Medifast, a US-based producer of portion-controlled weight-loss products and programs, has launched its new Lean & Green Meal Helpers category and introduced Macaroni & Cheese to its product range. 

The products have been developed for the company's Medifast 5 & 1 Plan, in which clients eat five Medifast meals and one Lean & Green meal each day.

Lean & Green Meal Helpers is a seasoning mix line which features spice mix packets at are specially formulated to help prepare Lean & Green meals without comprising the flavor. The Fajita Seasoning and Brown Gravy Mixes will make meal preparation convenient, the company said.

The company's Macaroni & Cheese offers a new food option without added calories. The product is interchangeable with all other meal options on the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan.

Medifast chairman and chief executive officer Michael MacDonald said that the launch of the new products, which allow customers to customize the Medifast 5 & 1 Plan, reflect the company's commitment to facilitate long-term weight loss and maintenance.
