England-based CPI has put its corrugated packaging at the forefront to protect goods in transit and promote brands on their store shelves.

CPI packaging director Andrew Barnetson said that while retailers were becoming more demanding in terms of value for money, guaranteed supply and innovation, corrugated packaging will control the market because of its efficiency and environmental advantages.

"While the feedback from the retail sector has been positive, we must take nothing for granted. The industry must continue to be innovative to ensure that corrugated remains the most economic and hygienic packaging solution," Barnetson said.

According to CPI, the organization represents more than 90% of the UK Corrugated Packaging Industry, and is responsible for an aggregate turnover of around GBP 1.2 billion, thousands of UK jobs.

Corrugated packaging protects around 75% of goods in transit, said CPI.

CPI in UK represents the supply chain for paper, comprising recovered paper merchants, paper and board manufacturers and converters, corrugated packaging producers and makers of soft tissue papers.
